We take pride in in making your wedding your perfect day. Almost everything can be tailored to your specific requirements and budget.
We have a licence to hold wedding ceremonies. Or, if you prefer, we can host your wedding reception as a stand-alone event.
The Bury St Edmunds & Farmers Club is a beautiful, prestige and well-known location right in the heart of Bury St Edmunds. It is Grade I listed and dates back to about 1350. Yet it has modern facilities, available car parking, a bar and in-house catering.
Food and Drink
Whether you are looking for a formal sit-down meal for 50 or a buffet for 150 (or both!), we can provide you with first-class food in beautiful surroundings. If the weather is good, we can even hold your reception in our garden!
Our chefs will discuss your menu and work with you to come up with something to suit your taste and your pocket.
Although we can built a menu to your specific requirements, couples marrying at the Bury St Edmunds & Farmers Club say that they find our sample menus a useful starting point for their wedding planning.
The Bury St Edmunds & Farmers Club is perfect for your summer wedding. In addition to our historic formal rooms, we can make our large terrace and garden available to you. If you wish, we can even prepare a barbecue for your wedding breakfast!
Bearing in mind the English weather, when we do this we suggest a Plan B using indoor accommodation if the weather turns out not to be suitable.
Even if you prefer to have your wedding reception indoors, our terrace and garden can be perfect for pre-reception drinks or as a chill-out zone during the rest of the day.
Unfortunately, we’re not able to carry out wedding ceremonies in the garden.
Our Club is warm and cosy. Its charm and historic features help you forget the bad weather and grey skies outside.
A real log fire in the lower lounge adds to the sense of warmth and comfort.
Whichever room you choose for your wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast, many couples getting married at the Bury St Edmunds & Farmers Club choose to offer their guests pre-reception drinks in the Lower Lounge.
More and more of the couples getting married at the Bury St Edmunds & Farmers Club are choosing to have their ceremony here, a traditional wedding breakfast at lunchtime, and a separate (and often larger) evening buffet reception.
This will often feature a disco and the use of the dance floor in our Regency Room; as well as the bar and the rest of the ground floor of the Club. We can obtain licenses to sell alcohol up to 1am if you wish us to do so. Our normal licensing hours extend to 11pm.
Needless to say, we are very happy to accommodate whatever arrangements you wish to put in place.
The most popular choices
By far and away the most popular choices for weddings are our Northgate Suite or Lower Lounge for the wedding ceremony itself; with the Regency Room and other ground floor rooms for the reception.
